Spot on! This whole thing was surreal to me. What in the world happened to these men?

"Matt reminded me of how, in Prince Caspian, the children came across the Stone Table but didn’t recognize it because the Narnians had entirely lost all semblance of what it was."

Subscribed again, just to say this was a great piece. Well-done, Mrs. Kennedy. I love the glad irony of how actually spectacular is a 'boring', 'average' church service.

Speaking truth cuts through the lies, laying them open, exposing them for all to see. Keep wielding the Sword of the Spirit, young woman!

The "regular church" you describe sounds a lot like the church I shepherd! And I strive in all earnestness to keep it that way!

The shallow superfluous exposé of a man gyrating around a pole with a sword is just beyond… unmanly for one ungodly for two and irreverent and unnecessary! In a day when we need strong, biblically grounded men to lead and to speak truth, this is occurring. I pray. Thank you Anne for your timely response…

" ... not all three in any kind of perichoretic relationship with each other ..."

Well, thank God for small mercies.

I'm having a rough day already, but I think that your offering today truly was one of the most demotivational things ever.

What depresses me most is that I attend a real church, and even in those supposedly "safe spaces" ... sanctuaries, one might even say, the crazy will sometimes come and seek you out. If you'd like a deeper understanding of what I mean, simply read the 2nd half of my most recent Substack post: "Passion for Distinction - Run Amok!"

There are no safe spaces any more, I fear. It's all crazy now.

What a sideshow. It’s like when you see a company role out an ad campaign that is bewilderingly offensive and you think, wow, they budgeted for that, and then somebody pitched the idea, and then it got sent to a committee for approval, and then they presented the roll out of the campaign and everybody in some room all said, yeah, that looks great. Amazing.
