Don't get me started on restaurants where the music (and other people) is so loud, it is difficult to have an actual conversation. Some restaurants have even been known to make their acoustics obnoxious to make them seem more "happening." I hated Bennigan's for that back before it brought joy to my mean heart by going bankrupt.

I feel this post deep down in my soul. Only problem is that, at least in my world, I choose the chatter. I know that my life is better when I ignore Twitter and minimize podcast consumption, and yet…

Totally agree! I actually go up to the counter and tell them that I intended to buy a number of things, but because of the loud music, I'm going to leave and not buy anything at all! I doubt it makes a difference--but I feel better!

As a musician by profession I heartily agree! about the obnoxious music piped in everywhere we turn. The Santa repertoire = nightmare. Often I wonder how the poor employees can manage hearing vapid bad music for hours. It must be a special. kind of torture. Loved this post!

I've asked them that--and they say they totally tune it out--don't even hear it anymore. Don't know how they can!
