I can understand the desire for a monarch or king who would uphold Christian values. The problem is that anyone who has acquired absolute power has become corrupted. It happened to Napoleon, Hitler, and so many others. So I have to believe that America's constitutional republic is the least worst kind of government.
Anne, thanks much for summarizing in so few words what I ‘ve been struggling with and forced to conclude during a two month preparation for teaching an undergraduate ethics class. All the ethical systems devised by man (unintentionally), and the one devised by God for Israel (intentionally) - will inevitably (if we are honest) show us that we cannot be holy like God: we cannot love Him wholly nor our neighbor, properly, nor teach our children wisely, nor appreciate creation appropriately… ad infinitum. We cannot be ‘properly human’ without the direct intervention of the Holy Spirit in regenerating us (Rom 8:9-11, Tit 3:5) and in the ‘growing up’ of us (Col 1:28, 3:16, Ja 3:17, 18, 2 Pet 3:18). We are indeed ‘under’ the Bible!!
So I’m finding this « late »…so not live…. How does the Live thing work? Do you SEE the folks who are watching (like on Zoom) ? Very exciting… I’ll try to catch the next one!

1-I’m so glad that you read those awful books and summarize them, so we are spared from having to read them ourselves!
2-by God’s grace we ‘live under the Bible’. What an incentive to read and learn from the Scriptures.
3-praying with you that elections go smoothly & there is no civil unrest or worse.
