Cool. I still can't get over how cool it is that the same Scott who I worked with at Record Exchange more than a quarter century ago, is now a member of your congregation and that his daughter married your son. It's enough to make one believe in divine providence.
Well that made me cry, in the good way. Thank you for sharing. I’m 17 weeks pregnant with my second baby, first son, and I hope to someday have a morning in the kitchen like yours the morning following your son’s wedding.
I’m a little misty myself, only my son (our only child) is almost 14. It would be an answer to prayer for him to marry a sweet Christian girl at 20 and not have to walk the ugly, desolate path of the Prodigal his father and I walked that led to us not marrying until we were 42 and 35, respectively.
Thank you for sharing more details, Anne. I’ve told several people about the video of the dances Matt posted because it was so charming. The whole event sounds lovely. I’ve missed your daily posts, but thankful you’ve been able to rest and recuperate.
Thank you for sharing all the details!! I am a details person; so much so that my children roll their every time I ask for details. 😄 So thank you for sharing!!
Congratulations to all!! I can certainly relate to the sleep bit, because I’ve been waking at 3 or 4am for weeks but immediately after my daughter’s graduation I’ve been sleeping in till the sun is up (6 or 7??) like the big relief of the “event” is over and now it’s time to rest. It sounds like it was a beautiful wedding! Enjoy the basking in the glow of your blessings!
Awww! That sounds like a wonderful wedding! I feel like I was almost there. You need more desserts next time, for sure. There is never enough dessert. Still, it was sweet, and I can't imagine the bustle and business in your life as you had another one fixing to graduate from high school at the same time. We had our frosh finishing her Billings Christian School final exams last week. Between her exams, babysitting, youth group, and various end-of-year- and end-of-high-school-parties, it felt like we were organizing the landing at Normandy. I can't imagine how you pulled it all off. I'm impressed.
Congratulations! Thank you for telling us about the wedding- what a lovely day! And your experience of joy and gratefulness is such an encouragement to me. I have to remind myself not to miss my kids yet. My oldest is only 11! Anyhow, many blessings to your family in this season.
Congratulations, Anne, on launching your son into matrimony and welcoming a new daughter in law! I pray they will have many, many years together and much joy, along with the inevitable trials that will come their way. Blessings on your family as you all adjust to a new family order!
What a lovely wedding! It boggles my mind that your son, at 21, was ready to be married. If I had gotten married at that age (and I almost did), the marriage would have been painful and likely brief. I was woefully immature and I didn't get married until I was 28. Even then it was a jolt. I expect that being married will feel odd to Aedan and Addy upon occasion; it takes a while to settle into marriage. Blessings be upon them!
I got married at newly 21. We're 13 years and two kids in and so happy to be married. My mom got married at 20 and my dad died in his fifties from cancer. When there's discussion of marrying "too" young, she says, "Would I wish I had had fewer years with your dad? No!"
Different people have varying experience of their early twenties, so maybe it's not for everyone, but I feel blessed to have met my husband early in life and to have faced so much of life so far together with him.

Congratulations! To them and to you, mother of the groom!
I'll add the bride's mother's knee to my prayers today.
What is the prayer?
"that she will heal and not need surgery"

I love this all so very much. Congratulations on raising a nice son who someone really wanted to marry. God is so very good.
You are already a great mother-in-law!
Praise God that He was at the center of this blessed event!! As it should be, but seldom is….
Congratulations to the bride and groom!!!

That read did my heart good.

We also married at 20 and 21 and will celebrate 47 happy years this summer.
Thank you so much for sharing all of this! It all sounds so lovely!
Beautiful, so happy for them and your family!
