I cannot believe that video isn't parody. I thought for sure it was Studio C material. And then I saw the building campaign at the end, and fear crept in. I did a quick Google...our society really is doomed.
These are some very fine, if distressing Takes, Anne! I'm going to begin saying "dopamine cartel."
Probably my priorities are misplaced, but I found the "Tears Are Not Enough" video slightly more distressing than the cathedral desecration. It's all wretched, of course. Also, I cannot even read the name "Rob Reiner" without being triggered. The thing is, I don't know how one would even go about the task of prepending a trigger warning for this. "WARNING: this article mentions the name Rob Reiner." See, it just doesn't work.
I must be susceptible to ear worms today and now, "Jeeeeeeesus, I love You Jeeeeeeesus" is going round and round in my head. Time for some Beethoven...🏃♀️
Thank you again for doing the work of gathering for our perusal all these bits and pieces of the shipwreck of our culture.
Well. That, Anne, was a very dirty trick. Although, goodness, the line sequence about “overdose” and “Holy Ghost” is truly a keeper, in one sense portraying a sort of unchecked honesty and at the same time giving the listener a rhyme lock up they never thought they would hear. I must admit. I kept waiting for the punchline, and felt a little sheepish when I realized she was sincere. That said. I had to go do a soul cleanse afterwards and listen to a brilliant version of Just a Closer Walk with Thee, New Orleans Jazz funeral style with the amazing Wynton Marsalis band, Eric Clapton and the incomparable Taj Mahal on vocals.
Those numbers on the Rob Reiner film are so low they are hard to believe even if I have seen them in a number of places.
If the numbers are accurate, I just might belt out, "Praise the Lord!"
I was shocked how low they were.

Same here!

That final music video was so totally Disney that I could hardly stand it. THIS is what passes for music these days? Horrid.
