I’m super distracted because Matt is talking into a microphone about what’s been going on about the ACNA and TEC in those two seminaries we talked about last week. I am also not leaping from height to height this morning because we spent ourselves nor counted the cost all of yesterday trying to nail down a draft of something about GAFCON. We do occasionally write things together, but, as you might expect, it is harder to do that than to just write something all by yourself. Matt’s writing rhythm is just slightly differently different than mine, so we argued a lot about tiny words that, theoretically, shouldn’t matter very much.
So anyway, because I’m so tired and I have more writing to do today, in the spirit of love and charity, I thought I would share with you the gift of my favorite person online, who I watch on YouTube. Here is one of true brilliance:
I love how she screams at the end of almost every video. And here’s another:
For real, I am able to find free moments to watch this brilliant lady all the time. And, as you might expect, “Everybody’s So Creative” is the motto du jour. We say it to each other in our house all the time now. It applies to most of the situations one might run into in modern life. So many things have, probably against their will, become “creative.” It’s the best possible use of that word that I can imagine. Here are some things that I recently have been able to call “creative”:
Josh Butler’s idea that “everything” is “sort of” about sex.
The American government right now, from top to bottom.
The Passion “version” of the Bible.
Jen Hatmaker
The Tower of Babble
Those people who jump off mountains wearing webbing like they’ll be able to glide down without dying.
The Dodgers
The way my children clean the kitchen and do their laundry.
Men who compete against women in women’s sports.
Fox News
Nebuchadnezzar
My Spelling
I think you get the idea. Other things you can say, as you surf the internet looking for creativity, or happen upon super funny, dumb, and occasionally wicked things in person are:
That’s how we’re doing it here.
That’s differently different!
I know what you’re thinking, why not a regular bowl?
We’re doing it this way.
It ain’t gonna slide down easy if it ain’t cheezy!!!
And on that note, I’m going to go do a lot of stuff because this day is already so creative. Have a nice one if you want to!
The other day Rob said “what does this word mean? Can you tell me or do I have to look it up?” I looked at what he was reading and replied, “It says literally, but it’s Anne’s spelling!”😂😂
Thank you for sharing 'Everybody's So Creative'!! This woman is brilliant and I'm laughing so hard. LOVE these videos.
