A Brief Excerpt From Our Marriage "Book"

This morning I’m taking the bold, bright step of posting a small portion of our marriage “book.” The scare quotes mean that it’s not a book, yet, because I haven’t written all of it. But I’m trucking along and need to apply some pressure to myself or it will never be done. Part One is all the stuff (or most of it) we say to couples preparing for marriage. There are six topics—the Bible, a Family Tree, Communication, Sex, Children, Money, and then, as a bonus seventh, we talk through the vows. Part Two is going to be a lot of the contemporary troubles that married people face, as well as various cultural trends. And I’m contemplating a Part Three of funny stories, but I don’t know if I’ll get that far. Today I’ve got the first section of the Bible discussion. Matt hasn’t weighed in yet, so you shouldn’t feel bad about reading it here and then eventually procuring the actual book, if it ever comes into existence, because that will be seriously edited and therefore much better.
