
Bit late this morning because I didn’t get a chance to write yesterday and then went to bed late because, well, this very old house has plumbing issues, and I was mopping pools of water up late into the evening. My balmy gentle day of gardening has been wrenched out of my grasp and been transformed into a day of basement cleanup. It has fallen to me to bring about order out of the chaotic darkness of other people’s bad pipe-placement decisions.
But I do have some quick and scattered thoughts because, in spite of it all, I started reading Beth Allison Barr’s Becoming The Pastor’s Wife: How Marriage Replaced Ordination as a Woman’s Path to Ministry. I’m not very far in, so this is by no means a comprehensive take, but I have, nevertheless, many complaints. I will number them, because that’s how we’re doing it now.
First, I am very over the grievance mongering.
