Monday Livestream: Quick Hits with Portia

Sorry I forgot all day! I was doing laundry. But the day isn’t over. This week Matt and I talk about a new compilation of the blog of the late Rachel Held Evans who, among other things, was an early pioneer of the exvangelical deconstructing movement. We talk about how many people have been led away from Jesus by her writings and those who have followed in her footsteps. Then we move on to the assassination attempt on the President, the would-be assassin’s church background. Then we turn to the news in Mali where I grew up and where radical Islam is rapidly encroaching on the south. Finally, we return to exvangelical Andrew Springer’s article in which he tries to tell everyone that Jesus didn’t really die for your sins or rise for your redemption because he “was” really a cool gramscian Communist like Mr. Springer but that evil Paul covered it all up and turned Jesus into someone who cares about eternal life.
