Happy Monday! [If you’re into that sort of thing.] I am wandering around in a complete fog after my busy weekend—and, no lie, the aftermath of election week. I am going to try to do a livestream this evening instead of this afternoon because Matt and I are going to go see a movie in the hopes of reviewing it for CRJ. It’s called Conclave (has anyone seen it?) and apparently it’s going to get a lot of Oscar nominations. Also, I guess it’s very anti-Catholic, or at least has a deeply problematical view of faith and the like. I expect I will find it stressful and immiserating, and thus exactly the sort of fodder to produce an angsty chat online.
Also, I had one of those revelations this weekend, in the course of CGS (Catechesis of the Good Shepherd) training that, once it occurred to me, seemed so obvious as to make me feel stupid, and yet also, as my children say, rearranged my mental furniture. So I wanted to chat about that too. My plan is to get on about 7pm. You have to have the substack app to able to watch it live, but I will send it out on email after.
In the meantime, here is what is getting me through the afternoon:
What a great visualization “rearranging your mental furniture”!
I’ll be interested in your review of the movie Conclave.
Anne, "Conclave" is great, right up until the last reveal, which, for me at least, retroactively deflated the whole thing. I'll be very interested in what you think.
Thanks for that piece of music, which I didn't know. My heart is centered in the slow movements of the Baroque period as it is; so, this slayed me.
