So, it seems that the House of Representatives of the United States of America has one among its members who is a man who believes himself to be a woman. And this person, wouldn’t you know, would prefer to use the ladies’ facilities in those august halls of power. Thus I think we may safely say to the person on Twitter/X who tried to explain that transgenderism was “not a big issue in this year’s election” was a dim intellect, one to be pitied above all things for not knowing what on earth the time is.

I would like to go on the record to say that I do enjoy Speaker Johnson’s smirk. It appears, it seems, against his will. You will perhaps someday find yourself in front of a bank of phones having to say one way or another. You may find that you have been elected to public office and then it will be necessary for you to say what you really believe, or, at least, what your constituents have elected you to believe.
There were some other beliefs in the morass of Speaker Johnson’s answers that I think show us quite a lot about how stupid the world is right now. Those two little words—not “male” and “female” but “dignity” and “respect.”
