Today was supposed to be the day Matt and I finally knuckled under and recorded a podcast, but I came down with something awful yesterday, and am lying in a bed of pain. The idea of trying to say anything with my voice, rather than my fingers, is appalling to me. It’s not all bad, though. Matt helped me hobble downstairs to the couch and built a warming fire that contrasts beautifully with the dusting of snow outside. Even better, all the children are be-headphone-ed in class and a companionable silence has enveloped us all. We might as well give up and be Norwegian, or Danish
One of the things I wanted to blog about this week was a multitude of videos all over the X app. The first genre, posted by Peachy, is this family’s day in the life with four small boys. I wish I could embed the video, but I cannot. It’s the usual sort of uptalking, cheerful fare, narrated by the female part of the equation. Two of the wee babes attend preschool, and the other are being homeschooled. They can afford early morning hockey practice, and the male half works from home and a coffee shop. There abound treats from a boba shop (not sure what it is, and I’m too ill to look it up) and trips to the local library. The whole video is suffused with a shine of opulence and ease, even though the main feature is the self-care routine of the mother. If you click to watch, you will enjoy lines like:
