Well, the reason I’m so late this afternoon is that I went out for a nice dinner with friends last night instead of burning the midnight oil over my keyboard, which I have, by the way, found, but still have no place to put. Hopefully by the end of the day even more order will have been restored to the universe, and I will have sent my phone off to be repaired, something I’ve needed to do every single day this week, but keep forgetting.

In the meantime, an article appeared on the X app, yesterday, that was then ratioed to a degree I have not witnessed in my short time on Social Media—short in terms of eternity, of course, in these mortal moments, it feels as though I have been on social media for literally ever. The article is in Christianity Today and is called “Have Mercy on Me, a Zynner: The nicotine pouch is popular with Gen Z men like me. That’s a problem for not just our bodies but also our souls” and is by a young person named Luke Simon who seems sincere and well-meaning. However well-meaning, though, at the moment of me writing this, on X the post has 35 whole likes, 233 comments, and 159 reposts with scathing commentary. If you enjoy a ratio of that magnitude, you might want to go over and check it out.

The very first comment, which I assume is there because of the algorithm and not because it’s the latest one, is by Megan Basham who points out the obvious:

You guys ran an interview with a member of WPATH arguing that the government shouldn’t intervene to stop the mutilation of children in the name of transgender ideology. But zyn you’re worried about. Great moral compass.

I had forgotten about that, but, you know, point taken. So let’s go through this wonderful specimen and see what we may see. What is Zyn, first of all?
